Final Project
Concepts for final projects
concept. 01 - nervous system
what
Nervous system is an interactive hanging led light sculpture consisting of multiple skeletal like armatures with led’s running through each. The sculpture/LED’s will be controlled from an external controller box that can be interacted with by participants. Control box will have an analog aesthetic with multiple channels knobs, faders, buttons, and click wheels that can be manipulated by the users. Inputs on the control box will change the overall look, fell, and vibe of the sculpture. Change in lighting will be the primary target but would like to look into how to make the sculpture kinetic.
why.
Visualization of outer sensory inputs and the impact it has on our emotional well being. Study how external inputs can be used to control light sources, sculptures and potential interactive systems. Concepts to explore include how a flood of external stimulus can evoke a change in us. How do we react to external stimuli? Do overstimulating situations make us anxious, nervous, happy or excited? How does overstimulating environments affect our ability to make decisions or communicate with others. Do these situations cause fatigue and burnout?
concept. 02 - mixtendo 3000
what.
Build a larger then life Nintendo emulator to be played on 80ft Daktronics jumbo-tron on the outside of the MIX Center Building. Main build consists of large then life “Mixtendo controller that would take multiple people per controller to play
why.
To be used for community engagement activities between ASU and the broader City of mesa population and beyond. Play old school video games at a larger then life scale would be awesome!
