10. Output: Cooper, Tyler¶
Task¶
- Measure an Output Device power consumption
Test - Cooper and Tyler¶
We tested the power consumption of a dc motor on a motor shield connected to a power supply. It read 5.858 volts on the multimeter. This tells us that we could not power it to full speed from something like a XIAO ESP32C3 since it only has a 5 volt option at its max. This means we’ll need to design around a separate power source or driver if we want the motor to run at full capacity. Understanding this limitation now helps us plan and understand more effectively for using a motor with the final project.
