Final Project

Week 1

  1. Waste segregation and detection

This is my first proposed idea of final project that is to make the lid of dustbin to open and close automatically upon detection of some object near to it. The main idea of this project came into my mind after seeing that most of the people are so reluctant to open the dustbin when they are dumping waste, they just throw it where ever they like so inorder to avoid that and minimise waste dispersal in office premises or houses I decided to do this project.

In this project I am planning to attach one ultrasonic sensor on the dust bin near to it’s lid so when ever we show something infront of the sensor or when the dustbin detects the motion the lid opens and closes back.

project 1

I was not sure whether to go with my first proposed idea of Final Project, because it was kind of student project in school where any one can do it. While I was attending the global review, I was fascinated by seeing the project ideas of Fab Academy students with their creativity and ideas. So from that instict I was in dilemma whether to move forward with same project or not. But within a day my problem was solved by my Instructor when me and my friends just sat and discussed regarding the finalising project ideas.

Week 4

HUNGRY CANDY DOG

The name of my finalised project for Fab Academy this year is HUNGRY CANDY DOG

So my Instructor suggested me why not I make funny and scarry type of project where my model would consist of something open enclosure like a head of either dog or tiger in the top with their mouth open which delivers some messages when it detects motion. And below them would be something box or chamber where it can hold the waste dumped by people and dispatch candy from its outlet.

So the main motive of my project is to attract kids because when ever they see such fancy things they get attracted and they try to explore it. So ultimately when they come to know that my model is giving them candy after they dump waste, all of the kids will be interested in it, and in the process the surrounding remains clean with free of papers and plastics. If it really works then It can be kept in nursery or ECCD where there are lots of childrens.

Week 7

My first prototype

My main motive of doing this project is because:

  • Through my project I want to encourage kids to always use bin and emphasise them on learning regarding recycling of wastes.

  • In my project I am planning to have voice output installed so that it can teach regarding the recycling when they drop things in the bin.

Week 9

My second prototype

This is my second prototype of final project. I tried including the mechanism by which the sweets / candy will be dropped from a open space or hole which is located at the back side of my design. My mechanism consist of rotating wheel with a partition on it which will actually carry candy/chocolate on it and rotates within certain angle and makes the sweets to dispatch.

Week 10

This week for final project I just tried to do modeling of my design that is the dog head. This is my first spiral of project and I will try inserting the electronics components and try testing it.

Secondly I also tried programing servo motor and Speaker for my final project and as I already did programing them during the Output devices week, I directly uploaded the documentation from my output devices.
