Design of Components for Final Project.

1. Soap Container Design.

The first trial design started with the design of a soap container where i am planning to make it by 3D printing.

Here is the Prototype that i made before i went on with its actual design.

It consists of lid on top to for replacing the soap solution, distance sensor slot in the front for detecting the hand, mini water pump hose in front for dispensing soap, a case at back of container for MCU board.There are holes in between for the hose and wirings of the components and slot at back for the power supply.

I designed my first trial soap container in fusion 360 which i am planning to 3D print it.Here is how i designed my first trial soap container.

I started by choosing the top plane and have drawn a line and circle as a base.

Trimmed to make in that shape and extruded to 120mm.Drawn another line from center right side of circle and offset it to 15mm and 20mm to both sides.

Then drawn a line between 15mm offset and drawn line again.

Next trimmed unwanted parts and was extruded to 30mm.

I choosed shell to 3mm for my container.

Selected top plane and sketched a circle of diameter 8mm as hole for pump hose by projecting.

Extruded that hole as 3mm and added fillet to the corners.

Next i have choosed top plane again and drawn same size for the lid.

I did offset of 5mm and extruded followed by adding fillet.

Next i sketched knob for lid which was extruded and added fillet.Then choosed the front part to sketch case for distance sensor. soapConimage12

I have extruded it to 30mm.

Gave dimensions for the case and was extruded down by 27mm.

Then sketched slot for placing the distance sensor inside that case.

Next, sketched hole towards the distance sensor case

I have extended the lid by extruding 30mm and added fillet.

Now. choosed back portion of container and drawn line to sketch case for my MCU.

It was extruded and sketch line on top and sketch a circle which was extruded for pump and wiring.

Added slot at back of MCU case for power supply.

I have extruded my lid towards the back side for the MCU case and added fillet.

Aslo added fillet for lid and MCU case.

I have clicked on assemble command to see if my lid fits with the container.

So the lid fitted while assembling and this is how it looked.
