01—Dissemination plan for final project

Lets talk general goals. So the purpose of this project is to create a compelling artistic work and piece for my portfolio that shows that I can make technically complicated and beautiful work. The promotion part of a project is hard. I really have a tough time maintaining the energy at the end of a long project to really put the proper amount of time into promotion.

How will I promote this Project?

Video and Photos

• Hire someone to shoot your project and edit a 45 second video that shows off the project.

• Produce a stack of photos that can be used in promotional material

Produce the required work for Fablab

• Make the video, make it look pretty good don’t kill yourself over it

• Make a clean poster with some attention to font and a nice photo and an exploded model photo

• Finish up the current documentation

Draft a CV

• Draft a CV with recent updates

02—Future Possibilities and Probabilities

Possibilities

The meta goal of this project is to have a piece that really shows off my abilities as an artist. Ideally I can use this to get residencies or work directly in the art world either for myself or in shop of some sort. I want to get a job in Europe at least for two years. Ideally I work under an artist / maker / builder creating interesting dynamic work. I would also be interested in working at a custom fabrication / art fabrication house. Some places I would like to work would be Berlin, London, or Barcelona. I would also be interested in residencies provided they are ones that could help my career as a visual artist.

Probabilities

• Show the work in a gallery—My piece is now getting shown at IAAC so I am happy that this is actually coming to fruition and people outside of IAAC will get to see this.

• Improve my portfolio— So far it would really be the only complete piece that I have made that represents the direction I am trying to go artistically.

• Continue marketing art— Nothing will happen if I am not actively part of art communities, attending conferences, and applying /contacting artists I look up to.
