Molding & Casting¶
Material 1: [Silicone Plastique]¶
- First I did a little research on the material, I got all needed information from Make Your Own Molds.
Safety¶
- Silicone Plastique is a Food Grade mould, so it is safe to form it with hands and no safety requerment is needed.
Procedure¶
-
take equal amount (ratio 1:1) of each container.
-
simply mix them together as you will mix a dough, until you reach a unified color.
- After that put it in the shape you want to make a mould for, start with the edges and the details then the rest of the shape.
- the mould is reacdy to be used.
Work Time & Cure Time¶
- The work time for Silicone Plastique is 15-20 minutes and the Cure time is 60-75 minutes at room temperature.
Application¶
-
It is not safe to be used for cooking or baking, but it can be used for chocolate, butter, Ice Cream, Pulled Sugar, Cheese, Ice, Gelatin and other food.
-
It is also used for Wax, Clay, Polymer Clay, Plaster, Melt and Pour Soap, etc.
Material 2 : [Gypsum]¶
![A picture of your raw material/box it came in]
Safety¶
- skin: non irritant, eyes: lightly irritant so wear eye protection and gloves
- Store in a dry environment [4 months aprox.]
- Not flammable
General information¶
Mix ratio (if applicable): [32L of cool clear water, 40kg of Mada plaster]
Work time: [5 minutes]

Process steps & Pictures¶
The ratio of gypsum to water was 0.8:1. So we weighed the gypsum to be 20g and the water to be 16g.
After pouring the water to the gypsum, we let it sit for one minute before mixing.
Pouring the mixture in the mold which turned out to be too runny. So we added 5 more grams of gypsum to our mixture for a thicker consistency.
Pouring the second mixture to the mold which clearly looks more dense than the first one. It was tougher to pour, but after a few taps, it fit in the mold perfectly.
Material 3 : [RTV2 Silicone Rubber]¶
Safety¶
- Always work in a properly ventilated area.
- Wear safety glasses, long sleeves, and rubber gloves.
General information¶
Mix ratio (if applicable): [1:1]
Work time: [30-40 minutes]
Cure time: [4-6 hours]
Cured material state: [very soft to medium hardness]

Process steps & Pictures¶
- Adding the A and B at a rate 1:1. For example: 100g of A to which add 100g of B.
- Mixing is done quickly and excellently from all directions.
- The silicone is poured over the isolated objects from one side, slowly at a height of 20cm, to avoid the entry of air.
- Leave the mold to dry within 4-6 hours, the time may decrease depending on the room and city temperature,
-
After drying, leave the mold on a flat surface for 24 hours before use.
-
Our ratio is 1:1, so we used 7.5g from A and 7.5g from B and mixed them together to get the desired ratio, which is a total of 15g.
- Next, we poured the final mixture into the mold tray in 2 different holes, one was plain as it is, and we added little gold sparkles to the other one.
Material 4 : [resin]¶
Safety¶
- Keep out of children’s reach.
- Store product in a dry place, preferably in the sealed original container, at temperatures between 20c&25c.
- Do not swallow. If you swallowed the resin, call a doctor immediately.
- A face mask should be used for pregnant women while using product.
- Wear protective gloves when you use the product.
- In case the product comes in contact with eyes: rinse cautiously with water for several minutes.
- Caution: contact with contents may cause an allergic skin reaction.
General information¶
Mix ratio (if applicable): [5:3]
Work time: [45 minutes]
Cure time: [24 hours]
Cured material state: [Solid]

Process steps & Pictures¶
- We measured 10g of Resin, and then 6g of hardner
- We mixed them both for 3 minutes
- We poured it in the first mold shape
- Next we added gold flakes
- And last we added a green pigment
