About

Hi! I am Maria Jose. I am a professor at University Ibero Puebla in Mexico. I work with nutraceutical and functional food, and developing biometrials.

Previous work

I'm a Chemical Engineer, with a master degree in Biotechnology, a doctorate in Biochemical Engineering, and postdoc in materials. My researches are mainly focused on the development of products for the revaluation of agro-industrial waste, development of polymeric matrices with applications in tissue, textil, environmental and food engineering. I have experience in the evaluation of antioxidant activity, identification and purification of compounds, evalation of in vitro cytotoxicity and development and evaluation of functional foods and nutraceuticals. In 2017 I was recorgnized by Tec de Monterrey with the "Mujer Tec" prize in the "she4she" categoty, wich is awarded to women promoters of female talent.
