license

As a Fab Academy student, like all my peers, my work is based on the MIT license, an open source license that encourages collaboration and sharing. As such, anyone visiting my website can freely access my documentation without restriction.

However, as all my work is intended for public use, I have decided to use a Creative Commons license.

Consequently, I have chosen to issue the following license:

Creative Commons license

This work is available under the terms of the Creative Commons License. Why have I opted for this type of license?

Justification for choosing the license

This means that you are free to share and adapt the content, but only under certain conditions:

  1. Attribution: You must give proper credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate whether any modifications have been made. You may do so in a reasonable manner, but you must not suggest that the rights holder approves of you or your use.

  2. Non-commercial: You may not use the content for commercial purposes.

  3. ShareAlike: If you remix, transform or develop the content, you must distribute your contributions under the same license as the original.

Project distribution

In the future, I plan to work on two parallel axes:

  • Accessibility and Education: Developing the project to make it easier to learn, with a particular focus on robotics education at my university.

  • Technology and Connectivity: Use the ESP WiFi chip instead of the Bluetooth module, enabling connection to the global network.

Business model

I’ve opted for a non-commercial open source license for my project. However, once I’ve made some improvements to my project, I’ll be looking to sell the concept to technology companies, giving them the opportunity to develop it further. At the same time, I’ll be trying to mobilize support, especially financial, for the purchase of better sensors. If possible, I also intend to give this robot a variety of forms, not just following automotive locomotion, but also animal locomotion and much more besides…
