As Mohamed Salifou Beninese, I am a passionate innovator and passionate in the fields of robotics and the Internet of Things. Currently heading TechIMA - Makerspace at Sèmè City (a flagship project by the Beninese government aiming to build the future international city of innovation and knowledge in Africa), I enthusiastically apply my expertise in technological project management and training. By founding TEKBOT ROBOTICS, I have established a platform to educate and inspire the African youth in STEM fields. My experience includes key roles at IROKO FABLAB and SOBEBRA BÉNIN, where I honed my skills in industrial maintenance. A graduate of EPITECH with a Bachelor’s degree in Internet of Things and holding certifications from Cisco Networking Academy, I am driven by my motto: “We do not accept things as they are and never stop innovating”. My journey is a testament to my determination to push the boundaries of technology and foster an inclusive and promising technological future for Africa.

In this session, I will discuss two projects on which I have worked or initiated, providing some additional details for those who are curious to learn more.
TEKBOT ROBOTICS CHALLENGE 2K23¶
The first project is the first Robotics competition in my country in Benin. TEKBOT ROBOTICS CHALLENGE is a national robotics competition organized in the style of arena combat games, held annually in Benin. Teams from various preselected Beninese universities receive a standard kit of parts, assemble, and program robots to compete, collaborating to accomplish tasks in a thematic game based on one of the greatest challenges facing Africa today.
“THE 2023 THEME” As our waste production continues to increase, it becomes imperative to innovate in solutions that will ensure a cleaner and more equitable future for our planet. While recycling allows us to reuse resources and reduce our environmental footprint, it is essential to explore improved methods of waste sorting, processing, and reuse. The theme «Recycling Rethink» encourages teams to envision the future of waste management by harnessing innovative technologies, thereby creating sustainable solutions for our
planet. By reimagining our approach to recycling, we can contribute to combating pollution and promoting an environmentally friendly lifestyle.
