20. Project development.¶
What tasks have been completed, and what tasks remain?¶
Completed tasks:¶
- Electronics design and production.
- Modeling and 3D printing of an electronics enclosure.
- Modeling and milling of a solar stand.
- Modifying the hand sprayer Canister.
- Fixing the the pump in the Canister.
- Fixing the electronics enclosure.
Remaining tasks:¶
-
Fixing electronic boards in the electronics box and assembling parts.
-
system intergration and programming.
What’s working and what’s not?¶
Most of the electronics are working just fine. The connections are mechanically strong and electrically sound.
What’s working:¶
- Testing the pump on output board is working, together with the sensor.
What’s not working¶
When I connect the input and output board using I2C, there the communication challenges start to arise.
- The I2C is not working and I’m trying to debug but it’s giving me a very tough time.
What questions need to be resolved?¶
- How to make input and output board communicate using I2C effectively?.
What will happen when?¶
Complete the remaining tasks:
DATE | ACTIVITY |
---|---|
06/06 | Debug I2C problem, finish programming and run a test. |
07/06 | Assemble all electronics in the enclosure and ensure all parts are working together. |
08/06 | Design a draft slide and shoot a video. |
10/06 | Design a slide and shoot a video for the final project presentation. |
12/06 | Final project presentation. |
What have you learnt?¶
-
Time management is very important now am working under pressure.
-
I have learnt that a small, unexpected issue can surely drag you out of schedule .
-
Not to underestimate the time it takes to do a specific task.
-
I have improved in troubleshooting electronics on my own.
-
I have learnt to stay calm and not to panic when things don’t work as expected just immediately. You need to take your time and keep trying.
