Invention, Intellectual Property, & Income

- Develop a plan for dissemination of your final project
- Prepare drafts of your summary slide (presentation.png, 1920x1080) and video clip (presentation.mp4, 1080p HTML5, < ~minute, < ~10 MB) and put them in your website’s root directory

Dissemination

I plan on using my final project within the boundaries of my highschool, however, if I ever plan on commercializing/expaning in the future, this dissemination plan will work on reaching a broad audience, including students, educators, developers, and potential collaborators. I’d want to share the project’s development, encourage feedback, and promote its usage in educational institutions.

My Message

Empowering schools with an efficient, technology-driven attendance system that enhances educational administration and student accountability.

What Educational Enhancement Could I Bring?

The TRACK project enhances education by making administrative processes much more efficient, making sure the received data is accurate and real-time. It offers students hands-on learning with technology, promotes responsibility, and uses RFID for secure records. It’s scalable and adaptable design allows it to be customized for different educational institutions.

My Dissemination Strategies

  1. Using various online platforms for documentation and sharing updates. I’ll definitely be using my Fab Academy page as a reference for my project, and sharing updates.

  2. Contacting online communities and reaching out to social media to reach a wider audience. In the future, I also envision conducting workshops and presentations to demonstrate the project in-person.

  3. Collaborations with educational institutions, news agencies, and industry partners to promote the project.

  4. Publish articles to promote and highlight the project’s technical and educational benefits.

  5. Gather feedback from the community to iterate and improve the project continuously.

  6. Making sure all project materials are accessible and open-source to encourage community involvement and participation.

Licensing

I’ve decided to license my project under the CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 License. This means that;

  1. Adaptations of my work can be shared with others under the same license, ensuring that any derivative works maintain the same openness and share-alike principles.

  2. The license restricts commercial uses of my work, ensuring that it remains accessible for non-commercial purposes only. This aligns with my current intention of developing the project for personal use and documentation purposes, with no immediate plans for commercialization.

You can learn more about this license below:

Why CC BY-NC-SA 4.0?

Licensing my project under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 allows me to maintain control over my work, making sure I receive credit where it is due, preventing unauthorized commercial use, and promoting open collaboration and sharing.

I feel that this is particularly suitable for my project, being an educational one. It’s open-source, and intended to benefit and promote innovation within the community.

Future Plans & Initiatives

This project is nowhere near perfect, and developing it has made me realize that there’s a lot more features that I’d like to add in the future. Some of these include:

  1. A customized application that makes accessing all of this data easily, and controlling the device remotely.

  2. Better power sources so that it can be used for longer durations of time without needing to be charged.

  3. Creating and using my OWN database (instead of Google Sheets) to communicate with the device and store information.

  4. Improving on the user interface and making it more intuitive.

How?

I still have a lot of work to do if I’m going to want to achieve this. Some of the processes that I’m going to have to go through are definitely;

  1. Developing a customized application keeping enhancing user experience and functionality in mind.

  2. Researching the implementation of advanced power sources to extend the operational duration, .

  3. Establishing and integrating a proprietary database system to enhance data communication and storage.

  4. Making the user interface design much friendlier to improve usability and intuitiveness, improving interaction and user satisfaction with the device.

Root Directory

Depending on your documentation style, everyone could have different root directories, but incase we have the same format, here is where I put my files:
