17. Project Development

What Tasks Have Been Completed?

Almost every file I need has been designed (PCB, Mounts, Parts, etc.) and all ready to be fabricated. I have tested my electronics and I know they all work and have experiemented with the sizing for fitting my axles and motors.

What Tasks Remain?

I need to mill/print some parts, my shell still needs some changes as I add/remove some parts of my project. I also need to design the tred and features to 3D print.

What Has Worked? What Hasn’t?

Everything recently have gone pretty smoothly, test fits, PCB design, and 3D printing parts have all seem to be completed/close to completed. I had to scrap the push button in turn for the micro switch due to the button being a little finnicky and hard to work with. I believe the change was for the better because now I can go up and down with the speeds instead of someone having to press the button until they get the speed they want.

What Questions Need to Be Resolved?

I need to figure out how to mount the axle and wheels on the side without the motor so that it could spin too. I’m sure this is most likely an easy fix but I’m having a hard time thinking about how to mount it.

What Will Happen When?

I’m in the process of 3D printing all my parts. I hope to mill my shell by June 6th and have everythimg assembled by June 9th so that I will have June 10th and 11th to create my video and slide.

What Have I Learned?

It is better to take time remeasuring and checking than running head first into each problem you encounter.
