Week 17 - Project Development
- what tasks have been completed?
So far the main Body is around 75% complete with CNC plates and lasercut wood. The wheel is also far into testing and technically works even though I want to improve it.
- what tasks remain?
There are a few main tasks remaining. The first and most important is to make a more efficient wheel. The second task is to create a better lasercut hinge for the edge. The third task is to fix the sliding legs so they don't break. Lastly, I need to finish the hardware mounting system, design a manual interface for the user, and code it all.
- what has worked? what hasn't?
The CNC'ed plate has worked well which is nice considering I can't easily cut out another. Another part that is working out nicely so far is the RC motor due to its high speed and it allows me to test from behind a wall or door. On the other hand, my biggest issue has been with the wheel as I can either not get enough grip, or the wheel explodes.
- what questions need to be resolved?
The main questions that needs to be resolved is the wheel traction problem. As I said before the problem is my wheel either doesn't have enough grip, or the wheel explodes due to material expansion.
- what will happen when?
Over the next 5 days, I plan to Grind and Complete my final project. All of it.

what have you learned?
I have learned that just one small issue you never expected can completely throw your schedule on its side.
