System Integration¶
For this weeks assignment, We had done an initial planning of how our project would look using cardbox. This was basically how I wanted my projec to look like.
Design Considerations¶
- 6 solenoid = 12 wires and height of the solenoids
- Speaker and mp3 player
- Neo pixles
- RFID card
- Buck convertor
In a compact box I had to fit in all the components tightly.
3D design¶
I designed my box in fusion360. While designing I considered a place holder for the solenoids and the height of the solenoid. A place for speaker and also RFID on the top of the Lid.
I 3D printed the whole design to see if there was any changes I needed to make.
I also decided to make an other lid that will go on top of the printed lid, so that the solenoid will pop out of this laser cut lid.
I realized that I needed to make the casing longer in length and also it was hard to get the pcb inside because of the solenoid holders, so got an idea to laser cut solenoid holders.
Next interation:
My 3d design is almost ready and just need to make few minor changes like make the bottom part detachable and with screw slot for mounting the board.
PCB design¶
While designing the PCB, I had to consider the size of the box and make sure that the board was not touching the solenoids.
I also used screw head for attaching my output devices for better look of my board.

This is how my board will go inside the casing. As all the components are very near, I wont have a lot of wiring issues.
