Machine Design

We made a self-tunable instrument! The details are in the group project page.

The team consisted of Mahe, Christine, Carolina, Max, and myself.

Task

Group assignment:

  • Design a machine that includes mechanism + actuation + automation + application
    • Build the mechanical parts and operate it manually
    • Document the group project

Contribution

I designed a test gearbox using PCB waste gears that ended up being the final gearbox, with different gears.

  • Cutting acrylic in the laser printer, parameters:
    • 2.5mm thick at 90 power, speed 2 in rayjet 400.
    • 5.5mm thick at 90 power, speed 1 in rayjet 400.

I designed a board that didn't make it into the final project.
