Testing the materials

I set up my work station. Covered bench with all the neccessary tools: micing cups, weighing scales, stirring sticks, paper towel for wiping down spills and a carbon filter extraction. alt text

I then went through following the ratio instructions to mix up a small about to test the materials. I degas the mixtures in the vaccume chamber before slowy pouring into a new cup for it to harden in. alt text

Here are the results. alt text

I believe the food safe silicone has gotten a bit past its shelf life. It did not pour easily and made it difficult to mix. It did still cure fully so will probably just need to use it up and buy more soon.

The AS40 silicone cured nicely.

The LB2 laminating resin was a very strong orange colour therfore it wouldnt be very suitible for normal resin pours.

The glass cast also cured nicely but had a more noticible smell so deffinitly needed ventillation.
