Week 15: Wildcard Week

Week Objective:

For this week’s assignment, I decide to use Digital Sewing Machine, available in the Lab see the image below and it’s called Janome Horizon MC15000.

Procedures:

I start BY selecting an image from the 'Horizon MC15000' it have alot of nice images and style, then select suitable hoop which was HOOP-SQ14.

Now we have to secure the hoop in the machine

  • For the thread I use the one that was already in the machine.
  • Those are the options in Horizon 'MC15000'

I chose this drawing "Sharks" & start stitching it.

    let start the machine
Now I like to write my name 'Abdallah', in this step I also used the Janome Horizon MC15000 options to write my name.

Cotton and colors I chose for the pillow

The final step is coordinating the colors of the pillow, stitching them from the inside from 3 sides, then bouncing, stuffing them with cotton, we complete sewing the remaining side and the pillow is completed.

Final product: Pillow with stitching 'Shark' and my name 'Abdallah' with amazing color

    Problem:

I face a problem when stitching my name 'Abdallah' in the final letter 'H' the problem was happen beacuse the thread Break!! as shown in the Janome Horizon MC15000 screen so I fix the thread and it work.

    WoW!!! is work now.

Digital Sewing by using my own design:

I did a crown design by using CorelDraw software and I export it as PNG file.

Then I put it in the Digitizer V5 Embroidery software>

To import an image in the Digitizer:

Click on Auto Digitize >> Insert Artwork

And don't forget to choose the hoop type you are going to use. I used HOOP-SQ14

I used the tool Click to Fill to remove the background of the image.

Now the design is ready. I chose the machine name and I clicked onLink. Then by clicking on Send I can send it to the machine

Design was recieved. I did the same steps documented above for fixing the thread and the rag then I pressed the START button.

    Now, let start

Although the project stopped before completing the crown due to thread depletion, I gained a clear understanding of the concept with my own design. The crown started to emerge, but the process was halted due to the late hour and the unavailability of a replacement thread.

    And this is the result
