Project Development¶
-
On May 30th, I started designing and printing the four cats. It will take about three to four days to complete the printing, depending on printer availability.
-
On May 31st, I will check the connections, connect the speaker, and write the code.
-
On June 1st, I will connect the Neopixel light with the touch sensor and write the code.
-
On June 2nd, I will design the PCB using Eagle.
-
On June 3rd, I will mill the PCB and begin designing the box.
-
On June 4th, I will prepare the box and work on it using V-Carve.
-
On June 5th, I will run the job of the box on the CNC machine and make any necessary edits to the design for the final prototype.
-
On June 6th, I will solder the PCB.
-
On June 7th, I will connect the PCB and run the final edition of the box on the CNC machine.
-
On June 8th, I will assemble all the components.
-
On June 9th, I will start editing the video.
-
On June 10th, I will create the slides.
-
On June 11th, I will upload everything to prepare for the presentation the following day.
what tasks have been completed, and what tasks remain?
The tasks that I have completed are: - 3d printing - Finishing the box using the CNC. - The PCB. - Recording the sounds for the emotions.
I still need to work on: - Documentation - Finish the code and test it - Finalize the video and the poster.
what’s working? what’s not? As I mentioned earlier I finished most parts of the project, but I am still working on the code.
what questions need to be resolved? Make sure that the sound for the emotion and the appropriate colour assigned for each emotion align.
what will happen when? Once I am done with the code I will film children trying out the toy and then finish editing the video and compiling it all together. Finally, I will be able to finish the poster.
what have you learned? I have learnt a lot during this process. Firstly, it is important to organize your time so in case of emergency I am ready to edit and develop my project even further. At the same time, I have worked on my coding skills, and I was able to apply all the knowledge I have gained throughout the different tasks that we were assigned earlier.
