About me

Hello, I'm Clara!

Currently (January 2023) working as a Fabmanager at Sorbonne University's Fablab, in Paris. It's a science and engeneering university, which gives me the opportunity to meet a lot of passionate students and researchers from various fields.

I have the great privilege to take this course under the kind supervision of the ultimate instructor, they call him Stéphane but in our office he's also known as WonderStéphane or Daredevis, he's my colleague and deserves your respect whoever you are. Come and meet us in our lab!

My background

Daughter of two teachers, granddaughter of four teachers, I sincerely thought I wouldn't work myself as a teacher. But life is full of surprises and determinism too, and I can now say that I have been working in education since I graduated.

My first experience as a teacher, also the highschool where I passed my baccalauréat exam! (Louis-le-Grand, Paris)

I encountered various types of learners, in very different learning contexts. I first was a teacher of technology and digital science in high school. Then I worked as an instructor for teachers themselves, and also animated workshops accross France about computer thinking (Scratch everywhere) for children of various ages.

I then took a sabbatical year in Sweden during which I often frequented Stockholm's Makerspace on KTH campus where I mostly lasercut stuffs for fun, even in the middle of the night since it was less than a minute from my appartment. When I came back in France, I followed a digital fabrication learning program for 2 months in Montreuil.

I then joined the business school emlyon as a fabmanager and a teacher, on Paris campus at Gare de Lyon - I first taught digital fabrication then web (mainly HTML/CSS/Javascript), to bachelors as well as masters students. In february 2022 I crossed the river that splits Paris in two halves (la Seine) and started working as a fabmanager at the Fablab Sorbonne-Université, on the science and engineering campus.

As for my education, I have an engineering degree from a school in Grenoble called ENSE3, which stands for National Superior School of Energy, Water and Environment. I specialized in Automation and Signal Processing but wasn't picturing myself working as en engineer in industry, so when I heard about a master Art Science Technology I immediatly registered to that one. This interdisciplinary program was a very exciting learning approach for me. It definitely opened me to some kind of digital crafting, using tech for fun, and so on.
