2.Computer-Aided Design
week 2 assignment is to model (raster, vector, 2D, 3D, render, animate, simulate, ...) a possible final project, compress My images and videos, and post a description with My design files on my class page.
I have some experience in 3D design so what I need to learn in this week is 2D design and tools
2D Design
Raster Vs Vector
vector is a scalable image based on equations which is made up of anchoring dots connected by lines and curves. Because these visuals are not based on pixels, they are known as resolution independent, which makes them infinitely expandable. These graphics are also device-agnostic, meaning their quality is unaffected by the number of dots on a printer or the number of pixels on a screen.
whereas, Pixels, or tiny dots, are used to create raster images, which use color and tone to create the image. when zoomed pixels appear as small squares in the image. Each image can only have a certain number of pixels; the number of pixels defines the image’s quality. This is referred to as resolution.
GIMP
GNU Image manipulation Program or GIMP is an open source raster image editor which available at all the OS platforms for free. All the basic editing can be done in GIMP for installation visit GIMP website.
Lasso
It helps you to free select the section of an image. first draw by clicking and dragging using the lasso and complete a loop and free select the image.
Coping the selected area and pasted in new layer in a new photo and adjust the position by using move tool.
other than cropping the lasso can be used in order to blur the background by selecting and adjusting the opacity in color panel.
Photopea
Photopea is a great example for todays modern cloud computing web application. with help of a Internet connection you can use Photopea in your browser.its basically free
Inkscape
Inkscape is a free and open-source vector graphics editor used to create vector images, primarily in the Scalable Vector Graphics format. Other formats can be imported and exported
Trace bitmap
This is toll which will be highly useful in the next coming weeks the tool converts raster files into vector files
from the path menu select trace bitmap and adjust the contrast convert the newly created vector will be displayed over the current image the trace bitmap tool can also be used to create vector files of different colors.
Figma
Figma is a cloud based vector editor with minimum tools and option which we can open in our web browser so easily.I just drew a simple sketch for trying it out what I like using the Figma is the simplicity of the arrangements of the tools
3D Design
I am pretty familiar with 3D design tools such us solid works and fusion 360. and I have done some projects in that,so for this week I will be concentrating on different operations that I have missed such us simulating parametric design and Generative design.
applications worth trying

Fusion 360
I chose Fusion 360 as the 3D designing software for the fab academy because of the ease to use and ability to create multiple bodies into a single design. (no need to assemble later) And the parametric design can be coupled with multiple bodies and connectivity to multiple softwares and different build in features makes it a good software
I tried to design an automobile door in order to render, simulate and generative design studies. The basics of designing a 3D object is to start from the 2d sketch. For 2D sketching there are line, circle, spline, patterning so on in fusion I created a 2D sketch using line ark and spline tools and to convert it into a 3d object there are extrude , revolve ,loft soon. by lofting I was able to create a 3D image connecting 2D images connecting 2 planes.
Parametric Design
Parametric design is a design method where features are shaped according to algorithmic processes, in contrast to being designed directly. In this method, parameters and rules determine the relationship between design intent and design response.
In fusion 360 we can start the parametric design by going to modify, then change or add parameters.later on the parameters can be modified.
Rendering
For rendering final model First in appearance tab you should set the material and color to a required entity.then navigate to final render where you have to select the image resolution, quality and path for saving the file.

Animation
Animation in Autodesk Fusion 360 is a feature that allows users to create moving simulations of their 3D designs. This is achieved by setting keyframes, which define the position, orientation, and other parameters of an object at specific points in time.
Generative Design
Generative design is an iterative design process that involves a program that will generate a certain number of outputs that meet certain constraints, and a designer that will fine tune the feasible region by selecting specific output or changing input values, ranges and distribution
Start by completing the the requirements for generative design study
1.The components required for the study, needed to be converted into components
2.Assign preserve geometry, obstacle geometry and starting shape
3.Add structural constrains and structural loads on the object
4.Add the necessary materials and manufacturing method.
5.Click solve

Simulation
In fusion 360 there is an option for simple simulations and complex simulations with Ansys. Here I simulated the design so as to check the load conditions and deflections under normal stress. In order to simulate in fusion 3601.Add stationary constrains and load conditions
2.Add the material from library or add custom material.
3.simulate

Rhino 3D
When compared to other designing software rhino is completely different. This is a software build for designing complex and equation driven structures with the grasshopper plugin even complex structures which was time consuming in traditional design tools is now possible.
I haven't done much in grasshopper or Rhino but still I find it fascinating and working on a complex design to be included in the 3D printing week.
Grasshopper is a powerful tool in Rhino 3D that allows users to create complex 3D models through a visual programming approach. It enables the creation and manipulation of designs using intuitive graphical elements called components
