Mechanical Design, Machine Design
Mechanical Design (part 1 of 2)
- 1.Design a machine that includes mechanism + actuation + automation + application
- 2.Build the mechanical parts and operate it manually.
- 3.Document the group project
- Document your individual contribution.

Group Assignment:
1.Machine Idea Brain storming.
a.We created a machine that can automatically massage along a fixed route. During the final demonstration, students from other laboratories said they also wanted to have a machine like ours, so after our discussion, we decided to make this project free. It is published on the Internet to help others. At the same time, our classmate Shen plans to make his final project based on this machine as a prototype. This is a good example of the future development of this machine.
2.Motor test
3.Brainstorming
3.1 We brainstormed and the following are the results of our discussion. We finally chose an automatic massage machine as this week’s homework.
4.Materials.
a.We used the aluminum profile motion skeleton of I3 MK3S as the overall support.
b.The connectors used at the joints are from I3 MK3S.
c.Motor kit.
d.Fascia gun.
e.Arduino Uno, expansion board, corresponding chips x4, female-female headers x3, and 12V power supply.
f.Wiring diagram
5.Install the aluminum profile motion skeleton and motors of I3 MK3S.
a.Skeleton.
b.Motor and printed parts installation.
c.Reference tutorial.:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S30OT0Kdlv4
6.Production of fascia gun clamp test piece
a.Modeling.
b.Printing.

7.The installation of the microcontroller for the machine.
a.When connecting the microcontroller, it's important to pay attention to the direction of the wires.
b.When connecting the microcontroller, make sure to short-circuit the EN/GND pins.
c.If you want to clone, short EN/GND in the direction you want to clone (otherwise there will be issues).
8.software operation
a.First, upload the control code.
b.Connect the motors (do not close Arduino IDE).
9.problems encountered
a.Z-axis cloning failure and an interesting phenomenon occurred.
10.solve
a.short circuit z
