18. Project Development¶
what tasks have been completed¶
To date, I can say that :
- The card to manage the input devices is ready
- The card to manage the output devices is ready.
- The dustbin is also ready
what tasks remain¶
As for the tasks still to be completed, I can mention the following:
-
3D modeling and printing of the electronic box
-
Programming and communication between the 2 boards.
-
Laser engraving of my logo on the garbage can lid.
-
Cutting out the name of my project on vynil and gluing it to the electronic box.
-
Assembly of the various components in the box and attachment to the garbage can.
what questions need to be resolved?¶
The essential questions that remain to be resolved are essentially for spiral 2 of the project, namely:
-
Developing a suitable program so that my card can read out awareness messages to humans over the loudspeaker.
-
Develop a program to enable the garbage can to distinguish between humans and animals.
what will happen when¶

what have you learned?¶
In the almost 6 months I’ve been training, I’d say I’ve learned a lot and acquired new skills that I’ll be building on over time. Among these skills and knowledge, I can mention : - Using Fusion 360 - Using Kicad - Use of 3D printer and scanner - Using the laser cutter - Use of CNC - Use of milling machine for PCB production - Use of Markdown (my first time manipulating a website)
And lots more. One very important thing I’ve also learned is time management. I’d say that I used to lose quite a lot of time on certain tasks, but during the fabacademy I learned to develop agendas with a specific time for each task that needs to be done.
