Individual assignment¶
For this week’s assignment, my contribution to the manufacture of this machine focuses on the modeling, production and assembly of the Z axis.
In Fusion360, I started by modeling the Z-axis support.
Then I modeled the part that will slide on the Z axis to move up and down
At the end of the modeling, I printed the parts.
After printing, I cut out the different rods through which the up and down movements on the Z axis will be possible.
An overview of the different parts that will make up the Z axis.
Start of assembly
End of assembly
At the end of assembly, I realize that I haven’t properly taken into account the position of the stepper motor that will be associated with the Z axis.
So I modelled a new part to support the motor.
Attaching the motor to the new part
Complete assembly of the Z axis.
Overview of the Z-axis I made for this week’s machine.

What went wrong / what went well¶
This week, I’d say it was my very first experience of machine building, and it taught me a lot about design. On the whole, everything went well, except for the fact that I hadn’t properly taken into account the position of the motor on the axle support. As a result, I had to make another support for the motor.
