For the raster, I decided to make a thumbnail for my assignment cover photo. I used gimp, a free & open source image editor. I started GIMP then I made a new image with a size of 1140 x 1080 px for my thumbnail. I imported some logs of the software I am going to use. Then I scale it down and rearrange the layers. Then I added text and used a cool tool in GIMP called "Gradient", which makes a cool gradient colour pattern. Ta-da, here is my thumbnail.
I explored Inkscape to make vector and I went through this tutorial to make my self a cool donut.
For the 3D modeling I want to explore and try muliple software so I decided to sick with one design and try to model it in every software I try. so I want to try to make a cubosome like model.
So, I started by trying OpenSCAD. It was interesting for me that I could write code to make a 3D model. I started by drawing a sphere & three cylinders that intersect on each axis then, I put all of that inside three loops, a loop for each axis.
After that, I wanted to try Tinkercad and design using code blocks so I followed the same logic as I did with OpenSCAD but Tinkercad had some limitations when I wanted to make 3x3x3 Cubosomes it hit me with an Error saying: Woo, “you are doing something crazy, too many primitives are using. Only allowed: 200” So I just made 3x3x2 Cubosome
After that I tried OnSape it is a brower-based CAD platform. I started by making single unit of the Cubosome. Then I used Assembly Linear Pattern to make 3x3x3 Cubosome
For the project modeleing I used Fusion
360.
I designed a Scotch Yoke Mechanism.
The main feature I used are Extruded, Extruded Cut, Extruded join, Fillet, Chamfer.
After I finished my design I render it
Then I made animated exploded view.
Then I made Motion Study.
