My name is Mickaël Bouhier, I work as a Research and Development Engineer at the DIVA (Design, Interaction, Visualization & Applications) group of Télécom Paris, a French public Engeeniring school and research institution specialized in digital technology. I am doing research and development engineering works, primarily in the field of Human-Machine Interaction and Digital Fabrication. I also manage and develop research platforms such as fablab, wall screens, motion capture systems, virtual and augmented reality hardware. Additionally, I provide training to the users of the Fablab on topics like electronic prototyping, 3D modeling and printing, laser cutting, and CNC.
Previous works
From 2010 to 2019, I worked as an Engineer at the CEA (Commissariat à l’énergie atomique et aux énergies alternatives) in Saclay. My role involved working with researchers on the design of software and hardware tools in various fields such as long-term prediction of nuclear waste evolution, cultural heritage analysis and preservation, study of the impact of radiation on matter, and aging material simulation. I was responsible for developing opto-mechanical devices for the automated analysis of samples through video acquisition and photogrammetry. I also designed prototypes that combined mechanics, electronics, and programming, as well as software tools for data acquisition in optical microscopy, infrared spectroscopy, electron diffraction, and Raman micro-spectroscopy.
From 2008 to 2010, I created interactive spaces and furnitures for entertainment and marketing purpose at byVolta, a communication agency in Paris. My job was to imagine, prototype and install various interactive solutions for worldwide clients especially in luxury sector.
