Individual Assignment

    Currently I am working as a ICT Technician in one of the technical Institute in Bhutan and also working with fab lab in this Institute. More about this Institute here

    Once I graduate Fabacademy my initial plan is to present my project to the President, Faculty and students of my institute. Then we will be discussing on how to apply the project in our college campus. Few more such prototype will be displayed in the campus to encourage the students on smart door lock system.

    After that I will develop a project proposal to the President of college and will implement in some of the faculty staff rooms./p>

    I will do a presentation on my project in virus seminar organized by the different colleges to bring more projects in the Royal University of Bhutan.

    Intellectual Property Rights

    Intellectual property rights are legal rights that provide creators protection for original works, inventions, or the appearance of products, artistic works, scientific developments.

    • Copyright

  • Copyright is a form of intellectual property protection that grants exclusive rights to the original creators of literary, artistic, musical, or other creative works. With certain exceptions, copyrights allow the owner of the protected materials to control reproduction, performance, new versioning or adaptations, public performance and distribution of the works.

    • Patent

  • A patent is a form of intellectual property right that grants exclusive rights to inventors for their inventions. It provides legal protection, preventing others from making, using, selling, or importing the patented invention without the inventor's permission.

    • Trademark

  • A trademark is unlike a patent in that it protects words, phrases, symbols, sounds, smells and color schemes. Trademarks are often considered assets that describe or otherwise identify the source of underlying products or services that a company provides

    • Trade Secret

  • Trade secrets are proprietary procedures, systems, devices, formulas, strategies or other information that is confidential and exclusive to the company using them. They act as competitive advantages for the business.

    • Licensing

    The idea behind my project is making something that can help to all the house owners of bhutan and to make more smart door system in our country. Therefore, I chose to use the Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0)

    This license allows other people to create and edit my final project but doesn’t allow anyone to make profit. However I like the fact that I must be given credit by those who may add on or adapt my project.

    Project Presentation Development

    For the project presentation I have to prepare a summary slide(presentation.png, 1920x1080 format) that will be used along a slide a one minute video (presentation.mp4, 1080p HTML5, < ~minute, < ~10 MB). I made the slide with the help Canva and video using kdenlive video editor and capcut app.

    My future Plan

    In future I want to implement my smart door lock system in big company like hotels and private offices, so that my final project will improve to develope the auto system in Bhutan. To improve my project and update it, I will be working with more input device to makae more easier to unlock/lock the door. So if you all interested to buil my project you all can visit my website.

    The video for my final project, I made using Kdenlive software to edit my video and also edited in Capcut app from my mobile device. To compress my video file I have used FFMPEG.
