20. Project development¶
Learning outcomes - Implement project plan
-
Apply time management techniques
-
Summarise and communicate the essence of your project development
WHAT TASKS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED?
-
Develop 2d design for body(frame) which will house PCB and mount all the necessary components like the bag value mask, compression mechanism and motors.
-
Develop 3d design for compressor piston, motor mounts, rack and pinion gear.
-
Develop PCB board schematics for the control for servo motors.
WHAT TASKS HAVE BEEN REMAIN?
- Develop program algorithm for motors.
- Total cost for materials and supplies.
- Most important testing .
All the work done is summarized in documentation.
WHAT IS WORKING?
- The frame design was adequate in house all component need.
- 3D prints for motor mount, compressor piston , rack and pion gear .
- PCB board for controlling motors .
WHAT IS NOT WORKING OR NEEDS TO BE IMPROVED?
- Rack and pinion gear works well but could do with so improvement to design to eliminate a up kick in the compression stuck .
- Only occurred to me after the design process to in include a on/off switch and an LED indicator light .
- PCB may have to be redone to include more output/inputs.
WHAT QUESTIONS NEED TO BE RESOLVED?
- Why motors are out of sync in compression cycle . which I know is a programming issue!
WHAT WILL HAPPEN WHEN?
For successful operation of the project
- Complete algorithm for motors
- Complete improvement if possible to include switch and led
- Test the performance
WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNED?
- Always place holes on PCB for ease mounting on sufaces
- Design and prototype as quickly in order to time for improvements
- Always include more output/inputs in PCB design just encase of add-ons
