4. Computer controlled cutting¶
For the development of this assignment we will know the laser cut and its implications both from the design, cutting material, handling of the laser cutter and the final assembly of the final product. I will detail the steps I followed to develop this assignment.
Project Test: Jewelry box in MDF material (3mm)¶
a) Parametric design¶
For the design, the type of material to be used was taken into account, which was a medium density fiberboard MDF, with a thickness of 3mm. This measure was important to take into account so that it is considered in the parametric design, where edges and lengths have been established, where originality is sought, avoiding the use of fastening means, such as screws and/or glue, at the time of assembly for assembly. 1. Enter a 2D program (Corel Draw). 2. Use the program’s tools to create the design with the measurements of the design.
3. Save the file in an earlier format that is recognizable by the CNCLaser program
b) Laser cutting¶
Once the design was finished, the CNCLaser software was used where the following procedure was carried out: 1. Open the program and import the saved file
-
Set cutting parameters
-
We place the material, the cutting process begins
c) Assembly¶
Finally, the product was assembled.
