Hello world
I studied engineering because I wanted to invent and make things. And spent 30 years working in a Telco company in Spain. Most of the time managing people and leading teams, but progressively farther away from the technical work. When I bought my first 3D printer I thought: "how is it possible that I haven't bought this before?". Two days ago (literally) I was the CTO of a Telco brand, and now I am starting this exciting trip with you, the fabacademy family.
In parallel I had a lot of fun creating a music collaborative show with self-made instruments (The Little Jon Big Band), and making some stuff, like a device to help my blind dog to avoid obstacles. And traveling a lot to the Gambia (West Africa), where my wife and I have a cabin we rent to sponsor charity project there, like the building of a school and scholarships for the young.
And my dream is still making things, but with a bigger scope: to build a fablab in Gambia, because I really believe in the social impact this spaces can create. Specially in places where the logistics are so bad, and there is shortage of everything. I also believe in the educational role of the fablabs, allowing young people to learn and create in a very practical and thrilling way.
So my thoughts are now the same that I had when I bought my first 3D printer: "how is it possible that I haven´t made this course before?".
