Goals:

  • 1- group assignment: test the design rules for your 3D printer
  • 2- individual assignment: design and 3D print an object that could not be made subtractively; 3D scan an object (and optionally print it)

    First design

    I used Makerbot machine to print the part. Using fusion360 I created a sketch by making a hexa shape and then using "spline tool" to create the random line: Then, by using "extrude" tool I extruded the sketch: Using "shell" tool I created a shelled model with a wall thickness of 3mm: I used "maker bot" software to edit orientation of the model and change printing setting:

    Second design

    I made this design by sketching a hexa shape and extrude it. Then draw a hexa shape on one of the faces and pockcet it through the model. As shown in this picture: Then, I added a "trous" to look as a ring: Here is the printed part; which looks nice:
