Computer-Aided Design(CAD)

Week's goals:

1) 2D desing:
  • Raster(GIMP)
  • Vector(CorelDRAW)
  • 2) 3D design:
  • Part & assembly desing usign fusion 360
  • Draft 3D model for the final project
  • 3) Animation & simulation
  • Animate assembly usign Fusion360
  • Simulate load/stress usign Fusion 360 FEA
  • 4) Video editing & screen recording
  • Edit a video usign iMovie software
  • Record a screen usign Quick time player

  • Used softwares:

    GIMP
    CorelDRAW
    Fusion 360

    2D desing

First, I used this video tutorial as a reference to design a logo using GIMP software. I did this logo:

    3D printing

Creating 3D model using fusion360 Steps: 1) creating a hexa shape sketch and use “fit point spline” tool to create a random line.(I inspired the design from following this tutorial

    Using fusion 360 – Design a 3D gear assembly

I used this tutorial as a reference in order to design the gear 3D model.

    Draft design

This is the draft desing for the final project (contactless hand sanitizing device)

    Animation & Simulation

Create an animation to know how the design should be assembled. Animated assembly:

Make a simulation for the gear assembly to understand how it'll behaves under a specific conditions. For example I'll try to examine a load on the design and see the stress and strain profile.

    Video editing (iMovie)

I decided to edit a video that is related to something I like whcih is COFFEE. To create and edit the video; first I did collect the footage from this resource. Then, I collected some sound effects related to the subjct I choose from this resource. This is the result:

    Files:

  • 3D prited random design - Fusion360 file
  • 3D prited random design STL file
  • Logo design using GIMP
  • 3D planetary gear model
  • 3D draft design for the final project
