Input devices

For the Input devices group assignment we had to probe an input device signal.

For this purpose, we decided to use Andrea's circuit with a FSR sensor and a digital multimeter.

Multimeter

A multimeter is a measuring instrument that can measure multiple electrical properties. A typical multimeter can measure voltage, resistance, and current, in which case it is also known as a volt-ohm-milliammeter (VOM), as the unit is equipped with voltmeter, ammeter, and ohmmeter functionality.

Our multimeter

To measure the input signals we used the digital multimeter on the DC Voltage mode. The black test lead is inserted into the COM terminal (center), and the red test lead into the V terminal (right). The first measurement was an analog signal, in this case from a FSR sensor.

Andrea's circuit.

For the measurement we put the black test lead at GND and the red test lead on the VCC.

For the digital signal measurement we used an old board with a LED on it. With the board powered on we made the measurements by placing the black test lead on the GND and the red lead on VCC.

The measurement turned out to be close to 5V, which is the correct voltage.
