11. Mechanical design¶
WEEK 11¶
This week’s Group Assignments are:
- To design a machine that includes mechanism, actuation, automation, application
- To build the mechanical parts and operate it manually
- To document the group project and your individual contribution

This week we worked as a group to make this 5 axis camera setup. We split up our jobs among ourselves according to each one of our strengths and I was assigned to do the prototyping work and I also designed the 2 axis gimbal with the help of our instructor Jogin

We cut the aluminium channels for the gantry using a cross cutter
We used the ZUND for cutting HTP plastic for the parts and assembled them using thermal inserts and bolts
Flexture prototype milled using ZUND
Needs to be sanded…
Inserting thermal inserts and adding the stripper bolts and bearings
We noticed that the belt was slipping off the pulley so we 3D printed end caps so they stay along with the bearings
