About me

Hi! I am Muhammad Waqas, working as an Assistant Professor in Department of Electrical Engineering, Sukkur IBA University, Pakistan.

My background

I was born in Shikarpur, Pakistan. I did Ph.D. in (Energy Storage Materials and Devices) from University of Electronic Science & Technology, China. I have more than 12 years of teaching and research experience. From the past 9 years, serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering, Sukkur IBA University. My research involves the development of composite separators for high-temperature lithium-ion batteries, development of highly efficient interlayers for lithium-sulfur batteries, synthesis of advanced energy materials for lithium-sulfur and sodium-ion batteries, flexible lithium-ion batteries, and wearable electronic devices.

Previous work

From last two years, I am working on: - Graphene based robust ultra-sensitive optical humidity sensor for environmental monitoring.

  • Highly robust soft strain sensor based on conductive sinusoidal fluidic channel incorporated with 2D material for robotic & health monitoring applications.

  • Design, fabrication and characterization of robust hybrid flexible sensor based on MWCNT for high power electric machine applications.

  • Design & Fabrication of highly efficient Battery Management System of Lithium-ion Batteries for Electric Vehicles.

  • Water distillation unit for drinking water purification system for remote areas.

  • Design, Fabrication and characterization of hybrid flexible sensor for wearable human health monitoring applications.

  • 3D Printed Multi-Material Bio-Inspired Soft Octopus Robot for Underwater Synchronous Swimming.
