1. Principles and practices¶
This week I worked on defining my final project idea and started to getting used to the documentation process.
SKETH: KINETIC FACADE¶
THE IDEA (POTENCIAL FINAL PROJECT)¶
The architecture in its origins through the primitive cabin was supportive and enveloping (skin and bones). The envelope has protected us from the immediate environment. Today with new technologies it is necessary to rethink this envelope. Technological devices help us face the new challenges of the modern world in the construction sector. In this proposal the architectural façade will be experienced. Parametric design and rapid prototyping help reduce construction manufacturing costs.
The proposal is to design and build a systematized modular structure that adapts to the intensity of natural light. This will require a servo motor and a light sensor. The light intensity must be programmed so that the panels can change according to standardized values. The project will contribute to the investigation of facades for the students of the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism of the National University of San Agustín in Arequipa.
COMPONENTES¶
-
union and assembly pieces (Escaneo e impresión 3D)
-
facade module manufacturing (Mecanizado controlado por ordenador)
-
Servo Motor
-
Sensor Light
-
Comunicación inalámbrica. (Redes y Comunicaciones)
-
Visualización de datos. (Interfaz y Programación de Aplicaciones)
INSPIRATIONS (LINKS YOUTUBE)¶
Find inspiration in these parametric design tutorials. These examples use Grasshopper for layout. There is a lot of creativity in the joints of the axes that allow the movement of the modules. I think that is the most difficult part of this type of work.
