19. Project Development¶
What has already been achieved¶
- The humidity sensor board that needs to transfer the humidity data via wifi to the motorized valve. This board was developed during the week 12,input devices assignment
- The user interface for soil moisture observation developed in the Week 15 Interface and Application Programming assignment
- The stepper motor control board to control the valve, designed in the week 11 assignment on Output device.
- The support for the solar plate of the motorized valve, designed during the week 8 on Computer controlled machining
what remains to be done¶
- Electronic design and production of the board that will receive by wifi, the information of the soil moisture and will control the stepper motor control board by an I2C communication.
- Communication between the different electronic boards
- Solar sizing of the system
- Modeling and 3D printing of the:
- Mechanical system consisting of two gears to allow the motor to have enough force to open and close the valve.
- Valve housing that will contain all the electronics with the motor, gears.
- Soil moisture collection system housing.
- The assembly and installation

What have you learned ?¶
I have learned an incredible amount of skills beyond just the hard skills of each week but also skills in time management and documenting as I go. This has been revolutionary for me.
