For this week's requirement I joined with Dubai's Emirates Fab Lab team, the project is to design a CNC machine frame operated by an Arduino UNO and stepper motors.

It uses a 24V power supply and an Arduino UNO shield as the controller, TB6600 stepper motor drivers which can supply the stepper motors directly.

The Frame will be constructed from T-slot aluminum extrusion profiles (2020, 2040) and in house milled aluminum milled plates.

Actuation of the axis will be on lead screws and motion will be supported by linear rails.

My main task is to design the Z axis frame and motion system on which the spindle will move up and down and to design the electronics box, I coordinated with the Dubai group using the Slack team communication platform, we all made our designs in the same collaborative project in Fusion 360 which allowed us to reference each others work and share the same component's models.

My secodnary task was to design a box to hold the electronics, I based the design on a 3mm thick acrylic sheet as the material.

I was also responsible for editing the presentation video, encorporated time lapses of the design and build process.
