This is my portfolio sharing some of my work and experience
Hello! My name is Terrence Carew, and I am an Electrical and Electronics Technician as well as a Computer Graphic Designer. I currently work as a technician and facilitator at our local FabLab at the National Institute of Higher Education, Research, Science, and Technology (NIHERST) Science Center. I take pride in being one of the first technicians at Trinidad and Tobago’s inaugural FabLab. Designing and building are not just my profession; they are my true passions. I relish the opportunity to learn new skills and enjoy sharing my knowledge and experiences with others.
I was born and raised in Trinidad, in a town called Gasparillo, located in the central-southern part of the island. From a young age, I was fascinated by electricity and how things work, which inspired me to pursue a career in this field. My love for designing and building also led me to become a Computer Graphic Designer. Additionally, I have a passion for agriculture and strive to incorporate clean and safe technology to enhance its efficiency.
I worked for a company that was among the first in Trinidad to incorporate a CNC plasma cutter into its machinery. This experience was pivotal in building my knowledge and skills in machine operation, building, and automation. The company was also the first to locally design and produce CNC plasma-cut structures and objects. Additionally, I gained experience in the natural gas industry, where I performed electrical maintenance.
