Future Improvements¶
My intention and hope for this project is for it to be tried and tested by many users as time passes and for them to give feedback and suggestions on new features or improvements they would might like and to continuosly update the design files. I documented this more thoroughly in my Invention and IP assignment.
The ideas I am currently considering are:
Electronics: - Arduino UNO version of elctronics component for users who don’t have access to make their own PCB. - New housing options for Arduino setup. - New program made for arduino boards. - RP2040 or ESP32 version of circuit and program for easier program changes (no need for UPDI cable). - A closed housing version for those who prefer more physical protection over showing off their circuit. - newer redesigned PCB with more features - Add a power switch. - Add more connection ports for additional optional sensors and outputs. - Add a way to change distance threshold to stop timer without updating program each time.
Maze: - Connectors for additional angles on walls. More options for crazier maze layouts. - Decals and signage. - To make the maze more exciting looking and engaging. - To add colour or other optical detection as a possible technique in solving the maze. - Entrance ramp. - Draw bridge or presure plate for electronics interaction. - LED light strips. Just more for the fun factor. - Electronics networked for phone control and results. - Groved wall pieces and base plate for sturdier connections.
