19. Invention, intellectual property and income¶
in this week assignment I have to:
*Develop a plan for dissemination of your final project.
*Prepare drafts of your summary slide (presentation.png, 1920x1080) and video clip (presentation.mp4, 1080p HTML5, < ~minute, < ~10 MB) and put them in your root directory.
dissemination¶
Who is your project for?¶
it for everyone and especially parents who have new born babies and want to monitor the environment in their rooms. anyone who have the assets to build this project is free to use it and that’s why I chose Creative Common License which will fulfill my goal.
Marketing:¶
since its an open source project, ill just publish it on my social media so anyone who wants to use it can.
Future possibilities:¶
This is the first version of the device and a lot can be improved like the size of it, adding extra parameters, a live monitoring camera and etc.
licenses¶
First I checked Creative Commons website know more about the categories the licenses they provide, so basically the goal of Creative Commons tools is to help share creative people share their work. they are charge free, easy-to-use copyright licenses provider.
Creative Commons license categories:
Attribution (CC BY)
This license lets others distribute, remix, adapt, and build upon your work, even commercially, as long as they credit you for the original creation. This is the most accommodating of licenses offered. Recommended for maximum dissemination and use of licensed materials.
Attribution-NoDerivs (CC BY-ND)
This license lets others reuse the work for any purpose, including commercially; however, it cannot be shared with others in adapted form, and credit must be provided to you.
Attribution-NonCommercial (CC BY-NC-SA)
This license lets others remix, adapt, and build upon your work non-commercially, and although their new works must also acknowledge you and be non-commercial, they don’t have to license their derivative works on the same terms.
Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs (CC BY-NC-ND)
This license is the most restrictive of our six main licenses, only allowing others to download your works and share them with others as long as they credit you, but they can’t change them in any way or use them commercially.
so for my project I chose tribution-NonCommercial (CC BY-NC-SA), where any person is free to: With this license, you are free to:
Share — copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format
Adapt — remix, transform, and build upon the material
Under the following terms: Attribution — You must give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made. You may do so in any reasonable manner, but not in any way that suggests the licensor endorses you or your use.
NonCommercial — You may not use the material for commercial purposes.
ShareAlike — If you remix, transform, or build upon the material, you must distribute your contributions under the same license as the original.
