5. Electronics production¶
Worked on electronics for the first time in my life and it’s a very interesting challenge.
Machine:¶
The Milling Machine in Techworks-Amman is:¶
-
Roland SRM-20¶
Working Envelope: 203 (X) x 152 (Y) x 60 (Z) mm
Spindle Rotation Speed: Range 3,000 – 7,000 rpm
Softwares:¶
Tutorials¶
Materials:¶
Material used for PCB board is Copper on epoxy glass grade FR4
Safety:¶
Safety measures to be considered when operating the machine
Group Assignment¶
Opening mods platform and choosing required machine and operation
Importing the png file and defining operating parameters for traces
Importing the png file and defining operating parameters for outline
Saving changes made for the test part
Preparing the board for installing on the machines
Setting the origin and Z zero
Tools used for milling the board, for traces we used 1/64” Flat Endmill (Photo for tool packaging shows it’s Ball Nose Endmill) and for outline we used 1/32” Flat Endmill (Photo for tool packaging shows it’s Ball Nose Endmill)
Loading rml code file to machine control
Cut part on machine before removing, and Final board after removing from machine
Week Assignment:¶
Components:¶
- ATtiny45 x1
- 1kΩ resistors x2
- 499Ω resistors x2
- 49Ω resistors x2
- 3v zener diodes x2
- red LED x1
- green LED x1
- 100nF capacitor x1
- 2x3 pin header x1
Board Cutting:¶
Preparing the board for installing on machine by applying double adhesive tape to bottom of board before putting the board on machine table top.
Using 1/64” Flat Endmill for milling traces
Inspecting the 1/64” Flat Endmill tip by eye loupe for any damage
installing the Endmill to machine spindle
Checking the mods parameters
Part finished
Soldering :¶
Step 1:
Hook the ISP cut on the stand to start soldering as shown below.
Step 2 Apply the Soldering paste on the ISP to get better soldering result.
Step 3 : Enjoy the Soldering and the back pain :)
Finished Component after soldering
