About me¶
Hi! I am Queenie YEUNG. I am Design and Applied Technology teacher in CMA Secondary School in Hong Kong. Now, I am remote student from FABLAB TAIPEI.
My background¶
Before being a teacher, my bachelor degree is about Marketing Managemnt and Creative Midea Production. I am familiar how to sell product and create a marketing cmapiagn for increasing people awareness. Before that, I have no idea how to MAKE (almost) anything.
Until 2016, I started to visit Maker Faire in Japan. I saw everything is new to me. Therefore, I tried to bit a booth in Maker Faire Tokyo 2017 for selling my first product. It called one-bug, it is a is a robot which contains a mini motor and a capacitor which helps it move and complete missions. It aims to help users understand the simple concept of friction-to-energy conversion, via experiencing how hand-cranked generators can be used for charging. From design the PCB, design the character and packaging, production or ording from manufacturer, me and my friend handling all by ourselves. Most of the children are willing to buy and try and other makers are willing to share their idea to each other. I think this is the time I love being MAKER.
Previous work¶
This is the video I create with my students. From brainstroming, shooting, editing, we do it by ourseleves.
Team7984 Hong Kong “The End of an Era - CMAA Farewell Video” VRC Promote Award Online Challenge 2021
Our team decide to speak in our familiar language “Cantonese” and English. We are hoping that everyone will understand the message that we bring in the video. The most interesting part in our video is using a function in Apple device called Memoji to represent our members face. Since the COVID-19, we cannot go to school and take video together. Therefore, we use Memoji to create our face and take a group photo together. Finally, it makes our thumbnail more interesting. This is a new try for us. Hope you enjoy our video and thumbnail. Please give us a thumb up to support our creation.
A Journey of 7984A (ASIJ VEX Robotics Challenge 2019) - VRC Promote Award Online Challenge
This is incredible journey for Team 7984A. We want to record and share one of the competition.
7984A - VEXIQ School Experience Programme (Community Award Online Challenge)
Team 7984 always promoting STEM in robotics to the community, such as, our Hong Kong Championship in VRC or VEXIQ. Some of our members being a participants involve in robotics competition. We knew that some of them may not good at competition, so we provided other learning experience for them, such as, being volunteers during the competition. It made the competition run smoothly.
