during output devices in week 13 I did a lot of tests using my board, out atmel programmer and a ring of neopixels to test out how they were going to look and what I coudl do with them.
It was very fun not just to see an led light up but a whole ring of neopixels doing a dance with the sketch I had told them to do.
I then went ahead and made a circuit with a large capcitor in so that I could then start to programme a line of neopixel as this is what I will need to learn when making my project.
I followed Scott Marley's tutoirals on FastLED basics which was really usefull as this helped me understand what programme I would be using and what I need to be aware of when programming them. As I had done nothing like this before it was really great and exciting to learn something new on the spot. Andrew showed me FastLED library as he had used it before for his own projects and from looking online it is a great place to start.
These are some of the FastLED sketches I made whilst following tutorials as shown below. I played around a lot trying to get them to go in different timings as this is what I would need to learn for my project, I also added a sensor so that I could test this out with delay and how it would all come together.
