18. Invention, Intellectual Property, and Income¶
This week we learned more about business topics regarding intellectual property and presentations for future income, scaling the business. Megumi Iwata is an instructor who taught and guide the properties handling and how to produce the presentations.
Assignments
- develop a plan for dissemination of your final project.
- prepare drafts of your summary slide (presentation.png, 1920x1080) and video clip (presentation.mp4, 1080p HTML5, < ~minute, < ~10 MB) and put them in your root directory.
1. Plan for dissemination¶
My project is a demo of my Ph.D research in University to verify the performance of mobile network and its proof of concept. Thus the idea itself is the starting point of research, I need to think securing the property of my mobile network research part with the business scale after this demo activity. The baseline is that the fabrications of application are to be open source and make sure the interface to network backend, keep the properties of research core part which related with mobile network system developments.
2. Licences¶
I take Creative Commons for physical fabrications (robot designs, electronics PCB designs), presentations and videos. But for software things of embedded programs, mobile Apps I take MIT license for the source code distributions.

Reflections¶
It was good understanding of licencing. And it was good opportunity to summerize my project how it will be, what is needed in business scene. Also good exercise of video creation. 1 minute video, 1 minute is actually very short and need to think carefully what is the essense of this project. Good recap for the project scope and keep this hard work for the final presentation with Neil.
