Computer-Controlled Machining

* Week Assignment Make (design+mill+assemble) something big (~meter-scale)

Computer-Controlled Machining also computer numerical control, and commonly called CNC) is the automated control of machining tools (such as drills, lathes, mills and 3D printers) by means of a computer. CNC machines are a subtractive technology. Design Idea: In this assignment I decided to design my final project frame by using CorelDraw and Solidworks. First Prototype: First I used CorelDRAW to design standing frame with wheels.
CorelDRAW1
By using CNC machine to cut the frame I get:

Final Design: After testing and discussing the errors in first prototype with my instructor Fathiyah Salem, I changed the design to be more reliable and strong. To design it I decided to use SOLIDWORKS software to design the standing frame. First step is to choose the plane and draw a circle with suitable dimensions.

In the center of this circle I draw a line.

Then use Trim tool to get half circle.

I added two rectangles.

Fter that, I draw two circles at the end of the rectangles.

Again use Trim tool.

Finally, I used extruded/boss to get the required thickness. I used 12 mm material.

similarly, I draw rest of the parts.

To joint all parts I opened new assembly and add all parts. I used mate tool to assemble the frame.

After simulating the design, I used CNC machine to cut all parts. Machine Specification:
