1. Principles and practices

This week I worked on defining my final project idea and started to getting used to the documentation process.

Research

I create many animals made out of waste mostly, and during my exhibition, a lot of people told that my works sould move. So I would like to study animatronics and send it to my buddies. Cygnus: bottle, umbrella, caps

Dragon of Calais

Last summer, my family and I visited the city of Calais, in the north of France. The city is renowned to be a refugees’spot. In order to make the city attractive again, the european commitee decided to invest in one of the biggest attraction: The dragon of Calais. This is a really artistic project and the makers are known all over the world: les manchines de Nantes

The people behind all these projects is are Jean-Luc Courcoult, Véronique Loève et Didier Gallot-Lavallée in 1979 , and these street performers are based in Nantes since 1989.

My purpose is to create a remote controlled dragon,

but I have to learn a lot of things about electronics and programming. So I will be focused on the eyes move and control.

Once it will ready to roll, I will go deeper about the exoskeletton. I have quickly seen the works of the Animatronics youtuber: Will Cogley. Amazing works.

I would like to model the silicone head on blender or similar and to make it by using the casting and molding.
