Hi! I am Fabien Jonckheere from Lille located in the north of France.
In 2018, I have joined the fablab of the Polytech engineering school: Fabricarium. The team is mixed between students and school staff. We help students, citizens, entrepreneurs for devlopping their projects.
The team has several specialities: mechanical , material science, biological etc…
We worked a lot during the first wave of the pandemic. We built laser cutting face mask. Here comes the Link
Since my childhood, my passion was to tinker with recycled materials such as pizza boxes, so I built toys, cosplays, cars , and many things.

I love to share my passion about creating stuffs. During my studies, I worked each summer as a camp counselor creating many activities.
Since 2010, I create huge animations for tinkering fairs (using recycling and fablab technlogies), or steam workshops especially for the MAKER FAIRE.

My background¶
In 2005, I was graduated from a woodworking engineering degree and I followed a master of user centered design. Then my university sent me to TU Delft in the Neitherlands as an exchange student in 2007 in the industrial design school.
Previous work¶
I worked two years in Paris to create displays and architure for exhibition based on honey comb cardboard. 2010, I had some design freelancing about products such as:

2014, an automotive style company trained me as a clay modeller and class A modeller.
I’d like to meet talented people and try to make something together. In 2019, the cultural department of my city give me a budget to prepare an exhibition about my works. My friend Francois (movie maker) and another Fabien, which is light designer joined me to make one of my dream: A blade runner teaser made out of recycling. Enjoy !

Reasons why I am doing the fabacademy?¶
For the fablab: We want to be a node in the north of France and host fabacademy students in our school.
During my workshops and exhibitions, a lot of people is asking me if this project could move. I would love to insert electronics in my future projects.
