Handicrafts¶
I definitely have a strong interest for manual work, and particularly like to work with wood. This section gathers some of the DIY crafts I have made (without using any digital fabrication tool).
Spool Holder¶
My little sister has started doing some sewing, and she was in need of something to organize her workspace. We came up with this very nice and convenient wooden spool holder, and overall we had a really good time working together.

Table Mat - Tunduk Shape¶
Coming back from a gorgeous travel in Kyrgyztan in 2018, I had the idea of making a wooden table mat inspired by one of the country icon that appears on the Kyrgyztan national flag. This icon represents a “Tunduk” which is the keystone of the Kyrgyz nomads’ traditional houses also known as yurts. Located in the top central part of the structure this piece is the connecting point of all major elements composing the yurt matrix.

Note : At this time, I was not familiar with laser cutters yet, otherwise I can ensure you that I would definitely not have had gone for the DIY craft option… A laser cutter would have had saved me hours of work and an accuracy that I could obviously not achieve with a manual work. Nevertheless I am fairly proud of my realization which has been my table mat for all those years I have lived in Paris.
Coatrack¶
Making crafts is a tiny appartment in Paris is not that easy and quite limited. However, it is still possible to make simple things, such as this coatrack I made from a simple old wooden plank that I retrieved in my girlfriend’s grandparents attic.

Pallet Shelf¶
Given some grinding, painting and varnishing, I gave a second life as a shelf to this pallet that I found in a street down my flat in Paris.
