Slide and video presentation

During this week I worked a lot on finalizing my final project as well as preparing a first version of a slide and video presenting my work.

As I have decided to work mainly with Linux during this FabAcademy and that all the pictures and videos I have recorded are stored in this environment, I had to get familiar with LibreOffice Impress that I was using for the first time. Usually for those type of activities I use Microsoft PowerPoint. The concept remains the same but formatting was not that straightforward, and as can be seen on the draft slide below I did not spend much time on formatting at that moment. I mainly focused on organizing the content I wanted to present.

As for video editing, I have used Kdenlive.

Here is the result I managed to produce this week :

Few days later I managed to shorten the video time and size, which permitted me to upload it on my Gitlab repository.

Dissemination

I do not intend to commercialize my final project, and it has never be my plan since the beginning of this FabAcademy. However, with more than 5000 escape rooms around the world according to this listing there is definitely a market for this type of entertainment products.

I will think about it in the near future and why not embarking for the entrepeneurship adventure !

As a result, and has can be seen on my website’s footer, I have decided to protect my work with the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International License.

I never had the opportunity to deal with licenses to protect my work in the past, and read a few articles to get familiar with it. Noblet Charlotte CC presentation was a great introduction to Creative Commons licenses (in french), as well as the Creative Commons Wiki. Finally I came up to this Creative Commons Choose web page that allowed me to rapidly obtain the appropriate code to integrate to my website for protecting my work.

As can be read on the license details :
