19. Project Development¶

This week I worked on defining my final project.

About the time managment, I use each week to discover each part of my final porject. During the input week I understand how the ultrasonic sensor worked, during the output week I discover the use of a MOSFET with a DC motor. I use the electronic design and production weeks to train to design electronics board. During the week where I use the CNC I change my idea of final project to built a smart tap for my van. I discover during the 3D printer and laser cutter the use of these devices. Because all of that, I was able to do quickly my final project because I acquired knowledge throughout the course.

what tasks have been completed, and what tasks remain?¶

For my final project, I did a sink support for a bassin in laser cutting, and I created a tap with a pipe inside to be able to dispense water in 3D printing, and I also have some sensor, ultrasonic sensor, the two sonars to make the tap work.

what has worked? what hasn’t?¶

The building of a peristaltic pump hasn’t finally occur because of the time remaining and the material, but the rest of the project finally work. I use a peristaltic pump bought in store to make mu project work. The building of my own peristaltic pump will be a second spiral. I have a tap that dispense water, according to motion detection with the sonar, it can be plugged to a car battery, that is exactly what I need for my van. At that moment I a using a car battery. The water is coming from a jerycan so I can use my tap anywhere. I made the drawing in 2D and in 3D and use all the devices I needed for my final project such as the laser cutter, the 3D printer, the electronic milling device. I created my own electronic board, and I make an integration system for all of that.

what questions need to be resolved?¶

Some improvement of my smart tap van module could be how to make the water flowing more beautiful, and how to have a power system that is included inside my van with maybe some solar pannel to refill the batteries.

what will happen when?¶

I have now a tap working with electronic system. In the future I would like to make a full smart van, working with electronic and smart system as my tap, possibilities are infinite.

what have you learned?¶

I have learned a lot during this fabacademy session. I understand now a little bit more how the world around me is working, I have met amazing people all around the world who are capable of big things. People are creative, smart and humanity have hope. I am able to do the things I want from my imagination and make them becoming real. I also have improved my english skills. I am proud to had the opportunity to join fabacademy and it is an add-on in my life.
